iPhone iOS4 is already Jailbroken

Fantastic! The iphone iOS4 is successfully jailbroken by “userland” jailbreak. The Planetbeing and Chpwn are managed to get the jailbreak on iOS4 by Comex userland jailbreak method using Spirit jailbreak tool. Planetbeing circulate the news from their twitter account.

Think I’m the first one I know about to get a root shell (and SSH) on iPhone 4, using poor @comex’s code (since he has no iPhone 4)

Musclenerd team put out some pictures of jail broken iOS4 that shown that Cydia shows the high resolution (bigger picture) on the screen.

The iphone dev team announced an update for iOS4.0.1 to terminate the reception problem that will launch on Monday of next week. So the Spirit jailbreak for the updated version of userland jailbreak will expect sometime in the next week that can jailbreak the iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch (MC model) and iPod Touch 3G.
But the unlock of iPhone iOS4 can’t be possible soon because of a new baseband, Ultrasn0w will work on it to launch a new unlock tool.

The DevTeam and others have been checking through the iPhone 4, and have noticed the baseband runs a completely different OS than on previous models. The iPhone 3G and 3G[S] both ran Nucleus OS on the PMB8878 baseband CPU (aka XGold 608), where the iPhone 2G ran the PMB8876 (aka S-Gold 2). iPhone 4 uses the PMB9800, or X-Gold 618 – running a separate OS – ThreadX, an RTOS by ExpressLogic.

The international users and notably US users have to wait a while to unlock their iPhone 4, to run their iphones on carriers, other than AT&T.[Via redmondpie]
