How To Jailbreak iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G Using iOS 4.1 Beta

Recently iOS 4.1 Beta is released. Jailbreaking steps given below are only applicable to iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G non MC model. Be AWARE your iPhone 3G shouldn’t be unlock dependent. If it is don’t try to upgrade your current OS to iOS 4.1 Beta because you cannot unlock this new firmware by using present version of ultrasn0w.

• Download iOS 4.1 Beta according to your iPhone and iPod touch model.
• Download IPSW file from iTunes 9.2.
• Update to this latest firmware using the IPSW.
• Download Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 for Windows or Mac.
• Run Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5 and place it to iOS 4 Final Version and not iOS 4.1 firmware file to continue with the jailbreak.

• Click on “Install Cydia” check box and next.

• Before click on next be aware that your device is off and connected to the computer.
• Press constantly power and buttons so that you device should be connected in recovery mode.

Screen will appear at that moment then all that you have to do is to press Power button instantly and during that you have to press Home button too. Leave Power button after few seconds but continue to hold the “Home” button so that installation setup will start and then leave the Home button.

• Rest of the task will be done by Redsn0w itself and after that your device will be reboot automatically.

Now you have successfully jailbroken your device on the latest iOS 4.1 Beta firmware.[via redmondpie]
